Some Turkish online news portals reported that the Russian destroyer Smetlivy returned back to the Mediterranean Sea on 19th October 2012.
The Kashin Class destroyer was in the Mediterranean, of the coast of Syria in spring, between 2nd April 2012 and 31st May 2012. Her passage of that time was reported in detail in this blog at that time.
Any additional information about the current deployment of Smetlivy is welcomed.
She’s due to enter Valletta, Malta on Monday 22nd October
Thank you very much for this valuable information. Would it be possible to share a photo when she arrives?
Will do

Hallo Klaus, vielen Dank für die zusaetzlichen Information. It is very courageous of Russian Navy to send the destroyer ahead of the rescue tug.
