Today we are celebrating the 91th anniversary the creation of Turkish Republic. I am grateful to those who made it possible for me and my family to live in this beautiful country under our own flag. And I can't think of a better was to celebrate our independence with a couple of elegantly decorated ships.
Today, there was a graduation ceremony at Turkish Naval Academy. I did not attend the ceremony but I was able to take photos of the warships anchored off the Naval Academy for the celebrations. While the attention was turned to the passage of two US Navy warships to protect the US participants to the Sochi Olympics, the sailing vessel Kruzenshtern passed through the Bosphorus today. Like the sailing ship Mir which passed last week, Kruzenshtern is heading to Sochi too.
