After the devastating flooding in Libya, many countries are offering humanitarian aid and support to this country. Türkiye is one of them. Turkish Naval Forces are using the Bayraktar class landing ships TCG Bayraktar and TCG Sancaktar and the older landing ship TCG Osmangazi to transport aid and supplies to Libya.
The two Bayraktar class LST’s left İzmir for Libya loaded with 550 personnel, 42 vehicles, 8 boats, 2 thousand 250 tents, 22 thousand blankets, 1750 food parcels, 240 thousand litres of water, approximately 4 thousand tons of aid materials in total arrived in Libya on 16 September. They were followed by TCG Osmangazi one day later.
According to Turkish Ministry of Defence a total of 122 vehicles and 3 field hospitals were delivered along with the other supplies.
