A Turkish private company has started to offer protection services for Turkish merchant ships going through Gulf of Aden. This is the first of its kind.
According to the website of the company, they received authorization from the Undersecretariat for Maritime Affairs, as a Recognized Security Organization according to International Ship and Port Security Code rules. Their security personnel are former members of naval special forces and coast guard.
Apparently they have already been on board of several ships which passed though the area.
