>A mother ship and 2 skiff type speed boat were detected by F-493 TCG Gelibolu, 250 miles north east of Seychelles on 18 April 2010 at 07:00 local time. They were on the route of the Turkish vessel M/V Servet-Y.
TCG Gelibolu intervened and stopped the mother ship. The naval special forces boarded the pirate vessels and neutralized 13 pirates and confiscated materials used for piracy. It was observed from the Turkish frigate that the bandits have thrown their weapons over board.
The mother ship and the skiff were destroyed. With the latest arrest, the number of arrested pirates by Turkish Navy rose to 66.
