NATO’s top commander Admiral Stavridis, visited Turkey on 24 July 2009.
Turkish Chief of General Staff Gen. İlker Başbuğ and U.S. Navy Admiral James Stavridis, NATO’s Supreme Allied Commander Europe (SACEUR) discussed matters that are particular concern to NATO, Turkish Armed Forces and U.S. Armed Forces, according to a statement made after the meeting.
I wonder How, Adm. Stavridis was feeling when he was visiting Ankara. His grandfather had to leave Turkish in 1920’s after the Greek – Turkish war. It was an important event that change the life of the Stavridis familiy totally. I bet he was having some fixed feelings. Let’s see if he mentions anything on his offical blog.
